We have a highly-experienced and well-trained team of professionals dedicated to serving all the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of our residents. Why did you build a community in Monument, Colorado?



Why did you build a community in Monument, Colorado?We opened Bethesda Gardens Monument in 2017 because of the explosion of growth in recent years in the Tri-Lakes region. Our parent company, Bethesda Senior Living Communities, is headquartered in Colorado Springs, so many of our colleagues consider Monument home. They saw the great unmet need for senior care here, and viewed Bethesda Gardens Monument as an opportunity to bring nearly 60 years of experience-inspired service and high-quality care to our local community.

Bethesda Gardens Monument is an intimate community and lives up to our parent company’s reputation for offering quality care, service and longevity of operation in the market. We believe we offer residents two advantages you won’t find anywhere else: an active lifestyle for our residents and a deep-seated commitment to inspired service on the part of our team. Highlights include our flexible dining options, outdoor living spaces such as patio apartments, large enclosed courtyards, and a large fitness space.

What is it like to live in Bethesda Gardens Monument? Can you describe the space?



We offer an intimate community with spacious, comfortable apartments and mountain lodge-inspired decor. Throughout the community, you’ll find plenty of large windows, sun-drenched common areas, courtyards and trails with sweeping mountain views. Residents enjoy the community garden, courtyards with seating, and walking paths. Beyond our community, residents enjoy easy access to Monument’s business district, including eclectic stores, restaurants and shopping, as well as access to the Santa Fe Trail. Life here really is tranquil and filled with opportunity.

How do I know if assisted living is right for myself or a loved one?



The choice to move into a senior living community is not always easy. We recognize seniors may have lived in their previous homes for many years, and it’s a major life change to move into assisted living. What are the advantages of an assisted living community?

Does Bethesda Gardens Monument work with someone with dementia (or Alzheimer's disease)?



Yes. We offer private studio and companion suite apartments in a 24-hour secure environment, and we have built a compassionate team that works with each resident and family to create an environment where residents can succeed and thrive while maintaining as much familiarity as possible. Seniors in the beginning stages of dementia may be most comfortable in our assisted living community. Those with more advanced needs may find our memory care community a better option. Our memory care community provides the most intensive care and supervision, and we incorporate Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach™ to communication for Alzheimer’s and dementia. We have invested greatly in hands-on training for every team member who works with our memory-impaired residents, from our caregivers to housekeepers to dining team members.

Why not a nursing home?



Nursing homes are not the catch-all solution they once were considered to be, primarily because most people do not want to be in one. Nursing homes are designed to provide patients with ongoing, intensive medical and nursing services. And to do this well they must be both intrusive and pricey. For seniors whose health has deteriorated to the point where acute medical intervention is required regularly, the cost and restrictive living environment of a nursing home begins to make sense. But there’s a huge stretch of road between retirement and a nursing home. Our residents enjoy active, productive lives with just the right amount of support 24 hours a day. They can discover their independence, their tastes, their hobbies and their worth, while getting the support they need when they need it.

My mom lives alone. How will she adjust if we choose a companion suite in the memory care community?



Our memory care community offers both private studio apartments and companion suites. Our companion apartments offer unbeatable value, providing an affordable option for high-quality care and the opportunity for isolated older adults to experience the health benefits of connection and community. Studies show that older adults who move from an isolated home environment to a community setting experience even greater health benefits from the daily social interaction than with just adding regular medication management and nutrition at home. In particular, for residents with memory loss, studies show that social interaction supports maintaining cognitive function, language skills, and a healthy routine.

Do you charge a flat fee or are there hidden costs and extra fees?



We offer a variety of resources and financial options to help assist seniors and their families to be able to afford the retirement lifestyle that meets their expectations. Our fees are easy to understand, and never hidden. The apartment monthly fee includes: restaurant-style dining, laundry and maintenance, activities and wellness programs, and some transportation. Most residents will pay an additional fee based on their level of care assessment. These fees cover the cost of the additional support their needs require, including: nursing, medication management or administration, bathing, dressing and other personal services. Do you allow pets?



It wouldn’t be home without your furry, finned or feathered friend. We encourage residents to bring their faithful companions, and we offer referrals for services such as dog walking.
